Well Living on TV: why is life in Brazil so expensive?

Why is living more expensive? This is the question that the economist Lígia Toneto answers in the Programa Bem Viver on TV this Saturday (28).

“The government [Jair] Bolsonaro [sem partido] it caused a huge destruction of the instruments that guaranteed the possibility of controlling food prices a little more. Prevent the price from rising so much, when there is an international high”, explains the researcher in the Interview section.

Bem Viver is a production from Brasil de Fato in partnership with TVT Network. On the São Paulo station, which covers Greater São Paulo, the production will air at 1:30 pm, with a rerun on Sunday at 6:30 am and on Tuesday at 8:00 pm. In addition, it is shown on TVCom Maceió, on TV Floripa, on TVU Recife, TVE Bahia and on the online platforms of TV RSul.

This week’s edition also features gueroba, a palm tree typical of the Brazilian cerrado that generates fruit and income for farmers in the Midwest. Speaking of food, the cook Letícia Massula, from the Matilde Kitchen Blog, teaches how to prepare a dry curd from scratch.

And there’s more!

In the Cultural Mosaic frame, the documentary Cine Morocco shows an emotional encounter between the struggle for housing and the magic of cinema.

The Health Tip frame is to remember the National Anti-Smoking Day, on August 29th. Family and Community doctor Josiano Macêdo, from the National Network of Popular Doctors, explains how to treat smoking in the Unified Health System (SUS).

The Agroecological Moment presents the production of Café Apuí, in the municipality of Amazonas, which names the product. The Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon (Idesam) introduced the agroforestry system that has ensured the preservation of the forest with double the productivity.
