RJ municipal hospital denounces councilor invasion

The direction of the Philippe Pinel Municipal Hospital, in the south of Rio de Janeiro, sent a note to health professionals repudiating an alleged inspection visit by the Pocket Councilor Gabriel Monteiro with a delegation to the unit on the afternoon of last Wednesday (6). The hospital claims that there was intimidation and embarrassment from servers.

Gabriel Monteiro arrived accompanied by men dressed in black and others in camouflage carrying cameras and recording improperly and without authorization hospital employees in the exercise of their functions. According to the hospital management, the councilor was carrying a pistol in his waistband, hidden under his clothes.

In the networks, popular health movements, such as the None Health Service a Menos, demonstrated against Gabriel’s attitude. Councilor Reimont (PT) said that Rio’s City Council “needs to meet and revisit the attribution of councilors, it seems that it is not clear”. Reimont repudiates the “inspection” of the PSD councilor.

Gabriel Monteiro is the target of six other conducts considered inappropriate by the City Council’s Ethics Council, which are investigated as a possible breach of parliamentary decorum. The councilor, who is a military policeman and “youtuber”, is known for filming actions and publishing them on his networks for his followers, thus obtaining financial return with the contents he posts.

The Regional Council of Medicine of Rio de Janeiro (Cremerj) has already denounced the councilor in other situations for abuse of authority by invading municipal hospitals without the consent of the respective directions. At the height of the pandemic, the councilor was also in exclusive units for the treatment of covid-19 and forced entry without using protective equipment

In June, the councilor was involved in a mess that was also filmed and published on the networks. At the time, he was inspecting an address where there was supposed to be a bingo. In the images, a truck driver is approached by Gabriel Monteiro’s group. At the police station, he reported that he was beaten with kicks and punches by the men who accompanied the councilor.

On social networks, councilor Gabriel Monteiro took a stand on the matter.

“I could be one more, but I decided not to be. After I PROVE tampering with the time sheets of Instituto PINEL, including by a member of DIREÇÃO, I heard the complaints of patients who reported negligence of management with people undergoing treatment, check spray points of illnesses, air conditioning only for the direction and doctors, nothing for the patients, and so many other nonsense… Councilors turn against????.”
