The 40th epidemiological bulletin of Rio de Janeiro, published this Friday (8), points out that the municipality remains at moderate risk of contamination by covid-19, the lowest of three classification levels, in yellow, for the third consecutive week .
That’s because the main indicators of the pandemic, such as the number of confirmed cases, deaths and care in urgent and emergency networks, continue to fall.

In other words, none of the 33 Administrative Regions of the city is currently at high risk for the disease. The city registered 319 people hospitalized with covid-19 this Friday morning (8), one of the lowest numbers since April 2020. The waiting list for beds remains zero.
According to the bulletin, the data reflect the effect of vaccination. Data from the Municipal Health Department (SMS) show that 5,779,624 people had already taken the first dose or the single dose of vaccines until the night of last Thursday (7). With the complete vaccination scheme, there are now 3,888,470 people, which represents a coverage of 57.6% of the total population and 73.6% of the adult population, over 18 years of age.
