The vaccination schedule against covid-19 in the city of Rio de Janeiro was advanced. This Friday (24), the municipality immunizes adolescents aged 13 and 12 years. On Saturday (25), anyone over 12 years old will be able to attend the clinics to receive the first dose of the immunizing agent. The Municipal Health Department (SMS) announced through social networks that the vaccination units will work from 8 am to 5 pm on both days.
According to the city, the booster dose for the elderly will be applied today to people aged 85 or over and tomorrow to those aged 84 or over, in addition to those over 60 years old who received the two doses until February 28th. The third dose has already been applied to 21% of people over 80 years old.

This Friday, during the release of the 38th Epidemiological Bulletin, the Municipal Health Secretary, Daniel Soranz, said that the city currently has a stock of the three main vaccines used in Brazil, CoronaVac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer, and that the backlog for the first dose they can “choose” which immunizer to take at the clinic tomorrow. “This is one of the few occasions that we will have all three major vaccines available at the posts. Whoever has delayed immunization will be able to choose which vaccine to take tomorrow exceptionally”, he said.
According to the Rio Covid-19 Panel, the municipality has already applied 8,982,502 doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus. In all, 99.8% of the population over 18 years of age has already taken the first dose or the single dose of the immunizing agent.
