After reopening the doors of the pink mansion, in the heart of Lapa, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, Armazém do Campo will also return to serving lunches produced with agro-ecological foods from this Saturday (6). The menu, known as Culinária da Terra, offers a starter, main course and dessert for R$35.

This Saturday’s meal (6) includes ora-pro-nóbis salad, almeirão, cherry tomatoes and cabbage, baião de two with vegetarian option and, for dessert, papaya jam with coconut and Minas cheese.

“Almost all the ingredients come from popular agrarian reform settlements. Through Culinária da Terra we discuss healthy eating. And also the use of foods that are normally not so well known, such as ora-pro-nóbis”, explains Ruth Rodrigues, political coordinator of Armazém do Campo RJ.

The preparation of the menu and the preparation of food is a partnership between Armazém do Campo and the extension project of the Gastronomy course at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

For nearly three years, the trading space of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) has been selling organic and agro-ecological products from agrarian reform settlements, partner companies and small farmers.

Even with the advance of vaccination, Ruth Rodrigues reinforces that Armazém do Campo is open to the public, following safety protocols against covid, with the mandatory use of mask, hand hygiene and distance between customers and tables for the meal.

The store’s opening hours from Wednesdays to Fridays are from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. On Saturday, service is from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
