With just over 30 days to the end of the school year, the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) determined, on October 29, the return of 100% of classroom classes as of next Wednesday (3) .
The ordinance, published in the Official Gazette of the Federal District, establishes the total return of students to teaching and learning activities, at all levels, stages, years/grades and modalities of education in the network’s school units.
Contrary to the determination, the DF Teachers Union (Sinpro-DF) called the category for a stoppage of school activities on the date scheduled for the return of classes. The act will be held at 9 am, in front of the Department of Education, in the North Banking Sector.
The union’s director, Rosilene Correa, said that the government’s measure was taken without any dialogue with the school community, with the union or with the Monitoring Committee for Return to Classroom, led by the district deputy, Arlete Sampaio (PT) .

“It simply determined the return. we don’t have enough space [nas escolas] to ensure distance. This measure is unreasonable, there are points to be addressed, so, given the absence of dialogue, we will make a stoppage to force dialogue with the education department and see the real conditions for face-to-face feedback”, highlights the director.
Correa also points out that the government’s incentive to release the use of masks in all environments induces “our children and young people to abandon protection, putting people’s lives at greater risk”, he says. “The pandemic is not ended by decree”, he adds.
In a statement to the population, the Union informs that the GDF resolution “is very serious” and puts thousands of lives at risk, for this reason there will be no classes in the school system on the 3rd. The entity also demands that the government “reconsider the decision”.

According to the GDF ordinance, the offer of the remote modality can be maintained for students, education professionals or employees who are in isolation due to illness by covid-19 or quarantine as a result of close contact with a confirmed case of the disease.
The shift will be four hours a day until the end of the 2021 school year, except for the modalities and services with different hours, established by the State Department of Education of the Federal District.
The document establishes that the adoption and compliance with covid-19 prevention, monitoring and control measures are the responsibility of managers, education professionals, employees, students, parents and/or guardians and attendees of school units and partner educational institutions.
