Simões, who has worked for 20 years as a motorcycle courier between the cities of Rio and Niterói, claims that with the price of fuel currently, the delivery person pays to work – in Niterói for regular gasoline, according to the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel (ANP ), ranges from R$ 6.29 to R$ 6.99 per liter -.

“The main problem is that today we pay to work, because we have the cost of the motorcycle, gasoline, we have to be available on the street, we don’t have a meal voucher, nor a discount of so many percent if you want to have lunch at such a restaurant, during the period you are working online. The apps just take away”, he told the Brazil in fact.

The motoboy also ponders that since he started working in the field of deliveries until today, the working condition has deteriorated a lot. For him, unemployment increased the search for opportunities in the sector of delivery and, with that, the jobs were even more precarious.

“In the past, working as a motorcycle courier was a luxury, you traveled your route, paid for freight, rented a motorcycle, had a salary, a meal ticket, food, everything was correct and documented. Now these companies have come in that charge hours and everything, but you have no relationship with them. We are not demanding an employment bond, but it makes a difference”, he comments.

The delivery people’s demonstration in Niterói is scheduled for 8:00 am at Rua Mem de Sá, 150, in the neighborhood of Icaraí.
