After dismissing 174 experts of the Rouanet Law, Mário Frias appears

After announcing the dismissal of 174 experts from the Rounaet Law, last Tuesday (5), the Secretary of Culture, Mário Frias, went to practice shooting at the 2nd Army Police Battalion, in São Paulo (SP). He appears armed in a photo posted by André Porciuncula, National Secretary for Incentives and Incentives to Culture – Lei Rouanet.

“Cultural agenda with the staff of the PM-SP Museum and the 2nd Army Police Battalion”, wrote Porciuncula, in the caption of the photo. In another video, also published on Tuesday, Frias’ secretary appears shooting at some targets.

Alleging a lack of dialogue from the Rounaet Law experts, Frias opted for the dismissal of the 174, who should not be replaced by the portfolio. The Secretary of Culture announced a public notice for the hiring of 21 representatives of associative entities and of the business community for the composition of the National Commission for the Incentive to Culture (CNIC).

According to the notice, the agency will be responsible for evaluating the cultural projects that claim resources from the Rounaet Law. CNIC will report directly to the Minister of Citizenship, João Roma.

The decision on the approval of the projects will also be under the responsibility of André Porciuncula. The installation of the CNIC is scheduled for February 2022. On Twitter, the secretary of Frias stated that the body is “merely consultative” and that its decisions may “or not be accepted by the secretariat.”
